Can you remove nitrate from well water?
Reverse osmosis at the drinking tap is the standard, proven fix for nitrate in drinking water. Whole-house nitrate removal is possible with specialty resin but usually isn't necessary — nitrate matters for what you drink and cook with.
What about iron and the rotten-egg smell?
Iron gets an oxidizing filter or specialty media ahead of the softener; sulfur odor gets aeration or catalytic carbon. Nick decides which from the test, not a guess.
Do you test the well for free?
The on-site screen — hardness, TDS, iron, pH, nitrate strip — is free. If it points to something that needs a certified lab number, Nick will tell you the cost before sending a sample.
Will the system keep up with my well pump?
